The Catalyst (tall green/turquoise glass faced building) is based within York University’s Heslington East Campus, our office is on the Ground Floor.

There is limited parking space at The Catalyst which is accessed via an entry barrier which issues a ticket.   Parking is free for permit holders, for everyone else up to 45 minutes is free.  If you are a visitor and have gone over the 45 minutes your car parking ticket will not lift the barrier and won’t let you out of the car park.  It will need to be exchanged at reception so you can get out – please ensure whoever you are visiting arranges this for you.  Deliveries can be dropped off directly at reception and there are dedicated delivery spaces for up to 30 minutes outside the right hand side of the building which is also useful if you need to drop anything off in the office.

Alternative parking can only be accessed via the Grimston Bar park and ride junction on A1079 (Hull Road).   When you turn off for the park and ride follow the signs for the Sports Village.  After the Sports Village on your left you will come to two car parks, Kimberlow and Field Lane. The second of the two is the one that is the nearest to the new office.  Payment for parking must be made on return to the car park using the paystation located there.  Please make sure you have change available as the paystation does not accept credit card or mobile phone payments..

Directions Coming from York City Centre By Car

Take the A1079 (Hull Road) out of York towards Hull. Continue on until the large roundabout (BP garage with Daleks on the top of the building ahead on your left). Get in to the right lane and take third exit - towards the University. At the next roundabout take the first exit (left) towards Heslington East Campus. Turn first right in to Baird Lane. Take a parking ticket from the barrier and follow the road down to The Catalyst Car Park on your left. You will see The Catalyst building to the west, near the car park.

Directions Coming from the A64 By Car

Take the A1079 (Hull Road) towards York (DO NOT take the A19 turn off even though it is signposted to the University).  Continue on until the large roundabout (BP garage with the Daleks on the top of the building will be on your right). Take the first exit (left) towards the University. At the next roundabout take the first exit (left) towards Heslington East Campus. Turn first right in to Baird Lane. Take a parking ticket from the barrier and follow the road down to The Catalyst Car Park on your left.  Directions by Rail

There is a frequent, fast train service to York on the main east coast line from London King's Cross to Edinburgh. There is also a direct service across the Pennines between York, Leeds and Manchester Airport. The Catalyst is 2 miles from the railway station and you will need to get a bus or a taxi to the building. This can take approximately 15-20 minutes.

 Directions by Bus

There are regular bus services between Heslington East Campus and York Railway Station. The number 44 (UniBus) travels regularly - approximately every 10 minutes and costs around £2.00 return.

 Directions by Bike

The University is well served with cycle paths and is currently improving cycle access and storage facilities. Cycle racks are available in most parts of campus.
